This strategic communications consultancy focused on leadership undertakes global communications and they offer a broad range of communications services.  Half of their business is corporate reputation advising high profile businesses worldwide and the other half is major cross boarder financial deals (M&A, IPO).  They are now looking to boost their corporate team with a high calibre Senior Account Director or Associate Director with institutional financial services expertise to run large scale projects without too much hand-holding.

The culture is somewhat unique with training and development is taken really seriously, promotions are actively from within and they genuinely care for each other.  This role will be looking after banks, asset management and private equity firms in the main although their client base crosses all sectors.  The work doesn’t stop at media relations – it could entail reputation protection e.g. cyber-crime, enhancement and transformation (change management) to help businesses through their growth life cycle.

The Role 

Key challenges and opportunities in this Corporate Associate Director role:

  • They are looking for a senior advisor to run large scale projects without too much hand-holding
  • Take on leadership in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment working closely with the management team
  • You will be advising banks, private equity firms and have great client management skills
  • Develop and implement innovative multi-stakeholder communications strategies aimed at enhancing and protecting reputation of prestigious influential corporate brands
  • The corporate reputation work encompasses crisis and issues management (frequently large-scale retainer work) and you will be working with companies of all sizes and thus handle all manner of situations
  • Play a key role in new business pitches and develop PR strategies, media positioning, thought leadership strategies
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to junior team members

The Person

 Key attributes and experience for this Corporate Associate Director role:

  • It’s likely that you know financial services rather well and you enjoy agency life – you are probably working as a corporate Senior Account Director or Associate Director
  • You will be an experienced, highly-accomplished communications practitioner who has worked in a big, top-tier agency and has run B2B and B2C corporate reputation campaigns both nationally and globally
  • You will have natural leadership skills and the ability to inspire and to build confidence in clients, client stakeholders and client teams
  • Big picture thinking - ability to think strategically, plan ahead for future issues and events, and recognize opportunities for clients and the agency
  • Enjoy working globally on large retained clients in the financial services sector – private equity banking experience is a plus
  • A grounded self-starter who is ambitious and business-minded- you must be confident with a hands-on approach
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to grasp complex concepts and distil them relevantly
  • Great attention to detail and a flair for the written word
