The purple patch has arrived!  This entrepreneurial, highly successful corporate and financial agency are looking for a rather special crisis Director to join their impressive team in a leading role and use their blend of crisis and financial communications expertise to service existing clients and help build the business.  Specific sector experience is not a requirement, though exposure to large FTSE 100 businesses is important as is having a great contact book at CEO and Chairman level.

The work undertaken at this mid-sized powerhouse consultancy is a true blend of corporate communications, financial PR and crisis management.  The people are credible, the clients are impressive and the focus is board level advice.  They take on work for interest level and they have built a track record of becoming known as the go to place for CEO’s in the midst of a media crisis.  The agency’s flatter and more flexible structure allows you to be more nimble than some of its structured peers and this is a company that is going places. So if you love litigation support and have the intellectual rigour to come up with creative solutions then this could be a place for you.

The Role

Key challenges and opportunities in this crisis management Director role:

  • Stretch your brain matter advising CEOs in a media crisis as well as using your communications expertise on financial announcements
  • Use your analytical skills to support with high level litigation work and demonstrate your creativity solutions focussed abilities on a daily basis
  • Your writing expertise will be utilised as there is a fair amount of content creation
  • Grow existing clients and develop new business leads through your Chairman level contact book
  • Lead and direct across client teams (financial services, energy, technology, consumer industries, support services and aviation) working on a number of retained clients and projects
  • Mentor and train clever junior team members

The Person

Key attributes and experience for this crisis management Director role:

  • Working as an agency director in corporate and financial communications is ideal, however, financial PR expertise can be overlooked if you have an understanding of capital market in general
  • It’s likely you will be working for a larger firm, but looking for the opportunity to really make your mark and influence the future direction of a business
  • Or you could be wanting a step up from a small boutique, but it is essential you have experience of FTSE 100 companies
  • Former barristers or journalists with crisis expertise from an agency environment are also of interest
  • Able to provide evidence of handling high profile issues, crisis and litigation situations at senior level
  • Personality, energy and drive are fundamental to this role
  • Ability to manage junior team members
  • Strong writing abilities and intellectual rigour
