This strategic communications consultancy have a global footprint, advise prestigious brands across industry sectors and are leading the way on the deal table.  Half of their business is corporate reputation and change comms advising high profile businesses worldwide and the other half is major cross border financial deals (M&A, IPO).  The culture is somewhat unique with training and development taken really seriously, promotions are actively from within and they genuinely care for each other.  They are now looking to hire a high calibre Financial Communications Director with a generalist background to run large scale projects without too much hand-holding.

The Role

Key challenges and opportunities in this Financial Communications Director role:

  • They are looking for a senior advisor to run large scale projects ideally with some UK listed experience
  • Take on leadership in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment working closely with the management team
  • Proactively create corporate and financial comms strategies to meet clients demands across all sectors
  • Develop and implement innovative multi-stakeholder communications strategies aimed at enhancing and protecting reputation of prestigious influential corporate brands
  • Lead on the strategic direction of major mandates and feed into new business pitches to help build up the UK listed work
  • Undertake and win a lot of emerging markets clients which you will service locally and internationally depending on the need
  • Manage and lead a high-performance team
  • Develop client relationships; Identify potential leads and areas of growth within existing clients as well as broader opportunities from a prospecting perspective
  • Manage, support and advise an international client base, working closely with senior stakeholders
  • Maintaining strong relationships with key journalists relevant to the financial communications and capital markets to ensure media coverage

The Person

Key attributes and experience for this Financial Communications Director role:

  • A background in corporate and financial communications and across capital markets and a strong understanding of UK FTSE listed businesses would be ideal
  • You must be a confident, mature communications professional who is able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • You must be an ambitious individual who is seeking a role that will offer rare levels of autonomy
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to grasp complex concepts and distil them relevantly
  • It’s likely you will be working as an established Financial Comms Director or a Financial Comms Associate Director looking to step up
  • A trusted, intelligent, strategic, thoughtful advisor
  • You must be able to communicate professionally, articulately and diplomatically with high profile stakeholders
  • Great attention to detail and a flair for the written word
